GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: TRADE TURNOVER REBOUNDING
According to figures released by the Georgian government in July, imports and exports continued to increase in June – a sign that the economy is growing.
The report notes that trade turnover is up over 18 percent, compared to last year. Imports are up nearly 13 percent, while exports are 40.4 percent.
The top exports for June 2010 were ferro-alloys, vehicles, gold , fertilizers and scrap metal – all consistently top exports.
Top imports included petroleum, vehicles, natural gas, pharmaceuticals and wheat, according to the government report.
Turkey and Azerbaijan continue to be the top trading partners for Georgia, toping lists for the biggest export markets and the biggest source of imports in June.
